Global Precipitation Patterns

The object of this activity is to compare the precipitation patterns predicted by the “ideal” atmospheric circulation model to the observed global precipitation data.
The map on the left (figure 1) shows the global annual average precipitation.
a) On figure 2, draw the global atmospheric circulation pattern and indicate zones of predicted high rainfall and low rainfall.
b) Go to the next page and compare the data and the model precipitation.
